Street Condition Update for Wednesday, December 23, 2020, 8:55 a.m.

City operations:  Twenty City crews have completed an application of anti-ice brine to bridges and overpasses. Crews will patrol arterial streets throughout the day applying granular salt pre-wet with brine as needed.

National Weather Service: A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 9 p.m. tonight. Light icing, winds up to 55 mph and snow accumulation up to 2 inches is possible.

Weather conditions: Windy, light snow

Street conditions: Arterial streets are partially-dry to wet with normal driving conditions. Drivers should be alert for slick spots as wind increases and temperatures fall this afternoon.

Street Condition Update for Saturday, December 12, 2020, 12:50 p.m.

City operations:  Traffic management has ended winter operations for this weather event.

Street conditions: Arterial streets range from wet with isolated slush to partially dry.  Paved surfaces will continue drying throughout the day due to rising temperatures and sunshine. Drivers should remain alert for slick spots and areas of refreeze as temperatures drop this evening.

Snow Removal Update for Saturday, December 12, 2020, 8:10 a.m.

City operations:  Twenty City crews continue plowing and applying granular salt pre-wet with brine on arterial streets and bridges. Routes have been covered multiple times during the storm and crews will remain on duty through the morning cleaning up remaining trouble spots.

National Weather Service: A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until noon today.

Weather conditions: Overcast

Street conditions: Arterial streets are wet with slush. Streets are expected to dry this afternoon as pavement temperatures reach the low 40s. Drivers should be alert for slick spots on untreated areas.

City operations:  Twenty material spreaders are applying granular salt pre-wet with brine on arterial streets and bridges. Crews will remain on duty overnight responding to changing conditions.

National Weather Service: A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until noon Saturday. Up to four inches of snow is possible.

Weather conditions: Light snow

Street conditions: Arterial streets range from wet with slush to light snow cover. Drivers should be alert for slick spots as snowfall is expected to linger overnight and temperatures fall below freezing.

National Weather Service — Additional rain showers may cause ice accumulation on elevated surfaces through the morning hours.  As a result, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 3 p.m.

Weather conditions – Consistent rainfall began around 11 p.m.

Street conditions – Arterial streets are wet and drivers should be alert for possible slick spots.

City operations – At 2 a.m., 20 crews began spreading granular salt pre-wet with brine focusing on bridges and elevated surfaces as well as major intersections.  Crews will remain on patrol through the morning rush hour and until needed.

City operations:  Traffic Management has ended winter operations for this weather event.

Street conditions: Arterial streets are mostly dry with normal driving conditions. Residential streets vary from dry to slush and snow packed.  Drivers can expect normal driving conditions this evening but should be alert for areas of refreeze Tuesday morning.

City operations:  20 City crews continue to patrol arterial streets, bus and school routes plowing and applying granular salt pre-wet with brine as needed.

Weather conditions: Flurries possible through noon today.

Street conditions: Arterial streets range from wet to snow packed. Residential streets range from slush covered to snow packed. Drivers should be alert for slick spots, especially on untreated areas.

City operations:  49 City crews are plowing and applying granular salt pre-wet with brine to arterial streets, bus and school routes.

National Weather Service: Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from until 7 a.m. today. 

Weather conditions: Snowing with additional accumulation of less than one half inch possible.

Street conditions: Arterial streets range from areas of slush to snow covered. Residential streets are snow covered.  Drivers should be alert for slick spots, especially on untreated areas.

Street Condition Update for Sunday, October 25, 2020, 7 p.m.

City operations:  Twenty City crews continue to apply granular salt pre-wet with brine to arterial streets and bridges.  After midnight, material spreading operations will include bus and school routes.  Traffic Management will monitor weather conditions and crews will remain on patrol overnight.

National Weather Service: A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Monday. 

Weather conditions: Mixed precipitation with additional snow accumulation up to two inches possible.

Street conditions: Arterial streets range from wet with some slush and light snow cover. Residential streets are slushy. Drivers should be alert for slick spots, especially on untreated areas.

Street Condition Update for Sunday, October 25, 2020, 1:05 p.m.

At noon, 10 City crews began treating arterial bridges with anti-ice brine and granular salt pre-wet with brine.  At 4 p.m., 20 City crews will begin applying granular salt pre-wet with brine to arterial streets. This evening, crews will expand material spreading operations to bus and school routes.  Traffic Management will monitor weather conditions and crews will remain on patrol overnight.  Drivers should be alert slick spots now and during the morning commute, especially on untreated areas.

A National Weather Service Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from until 10 a.m. Monday.  Light icing and snow accumulation up to three inches are possible.
