Residential plowing is about 50 percent complete.  Eighty-six City and contractor crews will continue snow removal operations overnight.  Crews report arterial streets being wet with some slush and near normal driving conditions.  Residential streets are slush-covered and snow packed.  Drivers should be alert for black ice and slick spots, especially in untreated areas.

Twenty City crews continue to apply granular salt pre-wet with brine, and in the next few hours, City and additional contractor crews will begin plowing arterial, school and bus routes. Crews report arterial streets being slush-covered. Drivers should be alert for black ice and slick spots, especially in untreated areas.

Immediately following completion of primary plowing routes, City and contractor crews will take advantage of warmer temperatures that have loosened snowpack to plow all residential streets. Parking bans will not be in effect.

Street Condition Update for Tuesday, January 21, 2020, 9:30 p.m.

Twenty City crews are transitioning from residential service requests and will apply granular salt pre-wet with brine to arterial streets, school and bus routes as needed. Crews will remain on patrol overnight. Drivers should be alert for black ice and slick spots during the morning commute, especially in untreated areas.

A National Weather Service Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until noon Wednesday.  Light icing, winds up to 35 mph and snow accumulation up to three inches are possible.

Street Condition Update for Saturday, January 18, 2020, 7:15 p.m.

The Traffic Management Center has suspended winter operations for this weather event.  Crews have responded to service requests of icy streets throughout the afternoon and evening.  Arterial streets are mostly dry to wet with isolated snow packed areas.  Residential streets are snow packed and icy.  Drivers should expect slick side streets and be alert for black ice and slick spots, especially in untreated areas.

More than 85 crews continue to clear arterial streets, bus and school routes and apply granular salt pre-wet with brine as needed. The number of crews will decrease over the next few hours, and 20 crews will remain on patrol overnight applying deicers as needed. Crews report street conditions ranging from wet to snow-packed. Drivers should be alert for black ice and slick spots, especially in untreated areas.
