Twenty material spreaders with plows began treating arterial streets with granular salt pre-wet with brine at noon Sunday. Brine treatment early Saturday morning and current pavement temperatures are keeping streets fairly clear now. But dropping temperatures and continuing snowfall could lead to accumulation, starting on bridges. Drivers are urged to watch for slick spots.
