Parking Ban Update for Monday, December 28, 2015, 9:10 a.m.

As a light snow falls in Lincoln, City street maintenance operations have deployed 20 material spreaders throughout the city, distributing pre-wetted granular salt with a focus on bridges, overpasses and key intersections. When snowfall reaches one inch in accumulation, plow teams will be deployed throughout the city.

The City is currently in a snow emergency. During a snow emergency, parking is banned on both sides of emergency snow routes, bus routes and other major arterial streets. A map of these routes is available at lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: snow).

Beginning at 8 p.m. last night, City crews applied anti-ice brine to all major routes.

Motorists are advised to use caution when driving. StarTran reports that buses are running on time.
